The Friends of Hospice is a dynamic and dedicated group of volunteers who raise funds and awareness for our community programs. Founded in 1984 by ten inspired women, Friends has nearly 100 members and hundreds of fans of their wonderful annual events. In the last five years alone, the Friends have raised more than a half million dollars for Children’s Grief Support Services, Transitional Care, and Community Education.
2016 Fairways for Kids Golf Classic: Players of all levels are invited to play in the 16th Annual Dr. Rich Shapiro Memorial Fairways for Kids held at the beautiful Seascape Golf Course in Aptos, this annual golf tournament raises funds for H.U.G. (Healthy Understanding of Grief), our children’s grief support program. The fun-filled day starts with lunch and includes 18 holes of golf, contests, a buffet dinner, and silent auction. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 11 AM.
2016 Oktoberfest: Bavaria comes alive at this family-friendly event featuring authentic German-style food, music, a beer garden, and live and silent auctions.

Active Members (Annual dues: $25)
- Attend monthly meetings
- Play an active role in Friends fundraising activities
- Serve on at least one committee and participate in event planning
- Act as ambassadors for Hospice of Santa Cruz County
Supportive Members (Annual dues: $50)
- Offer financial and moral support
- Volunteer on special projects
Sustaining Members (Annual dues: $75)
- Make an annual financial commitment to membership through a financial contribution
